Social Networking Software
Ongoing research into the use of blogs, online journals and other forms of social networking software by young people, in relation to issues of identity, community and personal space.
Media Culture, Media Society
Work on a new undergraduate oriented book for Sage focused upon a sociological approach to the study of media and culture is underway. The book will provide a comprehensive and up to date account of core debates relating to technological, textual, institutional and audience related approaches to media. It will also deal with media and 'new media' in an integrated fashion throughout.
Grounded Theory
Work is completed for a chapter critically outlining grounded theory and inductive research approaches for the forthcoming new edition of Nigel Gilbert's Researching Social Life text, published by Sage.
