Paul Hodkinson is Deputy Head of Department of Sociology at the University of Surrey. Most of his own teaching relates to the sociology of media and culture, though he also has taught on a variety of social research methods and social theory modules.

Currently he is coordinates and teaches undergraduate modules entitled Media, Power and Control, Popular Music and Society, Understanding Youth Culture and Music, Media and Technology.

He also supervises undergraduate and Masters dissertations related to the sociology of media and culture.
